Taiwan Won a Sweeping Victory in “Monde Selection”
42 Award-Winning Own Brands Achieved Highest International Quality Accreditations
Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation returned in triumph from the Monde Selection 2007 held in Barcelona, Spain with its own brands. Winning 42 qualification awards and medals, Taiwan selections were highly acclaimed by the juries for the unique Taiwanese taste and the excellent quality production techniques. The record-breaking results included 7 Grand Gold, 23 Gold, 11 Silver and 1 Bronze. 5 of the winning products including Taiwan Beer were also presented the International Quality Trophy, as this was the third successive year for them to win the Gold or above. These brilliant achievements marked another impressive international victory for Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation.
Monde Selection is an international assessment authority founded in 1961 on Belgian Government’s initiative. Due to the stringent selection standards and judgment system, the award has become an international qualification award with the highest recognition in Europe, and an honor for the best quality that worldwide players in the tobacco and liquor industry strive for. For more than ten years in succession, Taiwan have won various important prizes for its tobacco and liquor selections, including the International Quality Trophy and Grand Gold, and has been on the invitation list since early days. This year, Taiwan’s sweeping victory once again gave the recognition to tobacco and liquor companies in Taiwan for their enterprise beliefs in self-motivation and quality enhancement in a an increased globalization of the industry, and strengthened the competitiveness and brand image of Taiwan tobacco and liquor products in the international market.
Among the products recommended by Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation to participate in the Monde Selection 2007, Yu Hao Best Class Hartshorn Wine (bottle, 0.6L), Taiwan Beer (bottle, 0.33L), Taiwan Gold Medal Beer (bottle, 0.6L) and 4 tobacco selections were awarded the “Grand Gold” awards. Yu Chuan Millet Wine (antique-styled gift pack, 2 bottles), Yu Chuan Plum Blossom White Wine, Yu Chuan Orchid White Wine, Yu Shan 52° Best Class Red Sorghum, Yu Hao bamboo-leaf-green liqueur (porcelain bottle), Yu Shan Golden Sorghum (gift pack), Yu Shan Er Guo Tou (porcelain bottle), Yu Shan 58 Golden Old Sorghum、Taiwan Gold Medal Beer (can, 0.35L), Taiwan Beer (bottle, 0.6L), Taiwan Gold Medal Beer (bottle, 0.33L), Taiwan Drought Beer (bottle, 0.6L), Taiwan Gold Medal Beer (bottle, 0.6L)、Taiwan Beer (can, 0.35L), seven tobacco selections and the anka capsule bio-tech products were also favored and recognized by the juries, and were awarded the “Gold” awards. Furthermore, 11 Silver awards and 1 Bronze awards were presented to other liquor, beer, tobacco selections and whitening masks. More importantly, Yu Shan 58 Golden Old Sorghum (0.7L), Taiwan Gold Medal Beer (0.33L), Taiwan Beer (0.33L), Taiwan Gold Medal (0.6L) and Taiwan Beer (0.6L) proudly received the International Quality Trophy as they had 3 consecutive wins for the Gold or above.
The above 42 tobacco and liquor selections and bio-tech products had the honor to win the authoritative guarantee from the honorable awards for highest quality in Europe, which paved the way for Taiwan to forge into the international market.
